Answers to Common Donor Questions

Do you have questions about donating to SHARP? Here are answers to some of the questions most frequently asked of our Development Department.

Q: How much should I give?

A: Your gift is a personal decision, and you should make a gift that is meaningful to you in both amount and intent. The average annual gift to SHARP from an individual is $250, with gifts ranging from $5 to $25,000. No gift is too small. With 100% of our schools relying on SHARP to fund the program, any size gift makes an impact. It costs us $180 per student per year to bring our program to the schools.

Q: Can I pay in installments or make a recurring gift?

A: We can help you develop a payment schedule that allows you to complete payment prior to June 30. You can set up credit card recurring payments on the donation page or contact Catherine Best to set up a recurring payment plan by check or other payment means.

Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?

A: All contributions to SHARP are tax deductible, according to IRS guidelines. If donating to a special event, your acknowledgement letter will indicate the tax-deductible portion of your gift.

Q: Can I make a gift in memory or in honor of someone?

A: Yes! We will send a letter notifying the honoree or memorial family of your gift.
