Ways to Get Involved

There are many ways local organizations can partner with SHARP Literacy to provide learning adventures for students in grades K4-5.

Educational tour sites

SHARP Literacy began with a partnership with the Milwaukee Art Museum more than 20 years ago. Since then, we’ve built relationships with additional, museums, art centers and community-based learning sites. Through collaboration with highly trained museum and community-based educators, we are able to bring the best of arts integration and experiential learning to students and teachers. If your museum or learning center would like to partner with us, please contact Tamela Smith, Vice President of Programs and Partnerships, at tamela@sharpliteracy.org or 414.410.3207.

Summer Learning Program sites

SHARP Literacy’s Summer Learning Program grew out of a need to prevent “summer slide,” a reality for many urban elementary students during the months when school is not in session. If your Community Learning Center (CLC) or school would like to partner with us on our Summer Learning Program, please contact Tamela Smith, Vice President of Programs and Partnerships, at tamela@sharpliteracy.org or 414.410.3207.

We Love to Learn Book Series

Professional authors, artists and illustrators work with us to bring student learning to life by facilitating Young Authors and Artists Workshops to develop a book that is professionally published by SHARP Literacy. If you are interested in learning more about our We Love to Learn books, please contact Tamela Smith, Vice President of Programs and Partnerships, at tamela@sharpliteracy.org or 414.410.3207.
