In a broadcast on September 30, FOX 6 featured SHARP’s Our True Colors mural, installed that morning in Milwaukee’s historic Bronzeville district. Students from Messmer Saint Mary, Neighborhood House, NeuLife Brown Street Academy and NeuLife Gwen T. Jackson used math to paint wooden mannequins representing themselves. The figures join hands against a backdrop of Milwaukee’s skyline, each character portraying the artist’s skin tone, favorite color and characteristics that make each child a unique individual.
